is a fractal? Did I hear you ask what a fractal was? Well , it's a ...
it's a ... well, it's kewl, that's what it is!
Okay,
a fractal is kind of a picture that is usually drawn by a computer and is based on a
mathematical equation. This equation is called 'recursive', which
means that it repeats itself.
Fractals
live all around you! Look at a tree. Now look at a single branch off
the main trunk of the tree. What does that branch look like? Well, it
kind of looks like a tree, right? And that branch has branches off of
it too, and those smaller branches look like ... yep, you guessed it
... trees! So a tree is a fractal.
A
cloud is basically just a clump of smaller clouds, which are clumps
of smaller clouds, etc, etc, etc. So clouds are fractals too. Okay, enough about what
